Generally speaking, a sliding ring style debarker incorporates a chain type infeed and outfeed log handling system. The ring, which is housed within a ring carrier frame, is positioned between the two. Hydraulically operated hold down rolls on the infeed and outfeed feed works apply a downward force on the log against the chain. This provides both forward traction and resistance to the torque generated on the log from the knife arms during the debarking process.
Sliding ring debarkers have a lower feed speed capability and production piece count potential than their fixed ring counterparts due to the fact that a minimum prescribed log gap is required to allow the ring sufficient time to reposition itself from one log to the next.
Sliding ring design debarkers are ideal for slow to medium speed applications. Label£ºDebarker debarking
