Tandem Ring Debarkers

The standard format for all Nicholson ring debarkers utilizes a single debarking ring. For debarking stringy bark species such as cedar, redwood or eucalypt, or when debarking conditions are severe, a tandem (2 ring) debarker can provide a more effective and versatile debarking solution.
A standard A5C or A8 fixed ring debarker has four feed rolls on the infeed and four on the outfeed with the ring centered in between roll sets 2 and 3. A tandem debarker has 4 feed rolls on the infeed, a ring, 4 rolls in the mid section, a ring and 4 rolls on the outfeed.
Both rings have totally independent pressure controls. This allows knife arm tool pressures to be set up differently from ring to ring to suit specific application conditions.
Most often the two rings will be set up with one standard rotating, and one counter rotating. This provides tangible debarking benefits around the back side of knots and protrusions where log quality may be substandard. In their standard form, tandem ring debarkers can extend the quality of debarking and the ability of the machine to carry high debarking speeds beyond that of a single ring debarker, when either log or seasonal conditions become difficult (dry bug kill pine or under hard frozen conditions.)
Tandem ring debarkers can be operated with one ring operational and the other in the out of service, pulled out position. Label：Debarker
